Your opportunity

As our Hungarian educator, your role will be to help our international learners acquire the skills to communicate with the Hungarian community, and to gain a basic understanding to the wonders of Hungarian culture.

For our Hungarian native speakers, the main goals are to improve the students’ writing skills, as well as to light their fires for reading in Hungarian.

Your goals and responsibilities

International learners - Hungarian as an additional language

• Teach basic Hungarian words and phrases to build a foundational vocabulary for everyday life

• Teach basic reading and writing in Hungarian

• Introduce Hungarian cultural aspects to frame of  learning

• Link Hungarian lessons with the projects the students work on, to make the learning relevant

Hungarian learners

The main goals are to improve the students’ writing skills, as well as to light their fires for reading in Hungarian.

• Teach students grammar, style and vocabulary in a differentiated manner to improve their writing skills

• Generate hunger in the students to read in Hungarian

• Introduce students to the wonders of Hungarian literature, culture and history 

• Teach Hungarian literacy tied to or corresponding  with  the current project of each learning grou

Your experience  and qualifications

• Hungarian language and literature qualification and educator qualification or equivalent

• Drama, language therapy, Hungarian as an additional language qualification are a major plus

• Having worked with mixed aged groups is an advantage

• 3+ years of experience as a Hungarian as a second language teacher preferably in an international school for children aged 6-14

• Native or near-native English level

• Experience working with culturally diverse learners would be a major plus

• Proven experience working and supporting multicultural teams and communities

Your qualities

• Empathetic individual who can work alongside others in a compassionate and non-judgemental manner - with a natural ability to establish strong, positive relationships with young people and their parents

• Fluent in English to support a team effort

• Charismatic self-starter, who is highly resourceful, persistent, adaptable, innovative, creative, collaborative and who wants to continuously improve in a changing and agile environment

• A person who is confident alone, but who believes that we are stronger together in a team-based approach

• Experience with sustainable or entrepreneurial causes is a major plus
