Lead the Year 8 Grade 7 Project-Based Learning experience for 12-13-year-olds, focusing on literacy while leveraging your expertise in project-based learning and sustainability. This course is a full-year deep dive into dramatic filmmaking, so a background in drama or filmmaking, even as a hobby, is a significant plus.
Design and deliver cross-disciplinary PBL experiences that integrate literacy and other subjects, empowering students to create meaningful projects and exquisite final products.
Collaborate with colleagues to nurture a love for storytelling, communication, and creativity in young learners through Understanding by Design (UbD) best practices.
Inspire students through real-world experiences that incorporate film-making, drama, or similar creative expressions.
Guide young people in developing their personal portfolios, showcasing their growth, achievements, and projects.
Co-create and teach wellbeing topics while fostering a compassionate, connected learning community.
Use diagnostic and formative data to meet differentiated student needs.
Facilitate the development of executive functioning, communication, and collaboration skills.
Engage parents through regular, transparent, and meaningful communication.
Encourage students to embrace nature and regeneration while learning in shared spaces and outdoor settings.
Stay at the forefront of educational innovation, adapting to emerging trends in PBL and literacy instruction.
Use technology, including learning management systems and AI, to deepen learning.
Contribute to after-school activities and supervision duties.
3+ years of teaching experience in middle years (11-14 age group), with a preference for PBL or innovative teaching methods.
A teaching qualification or a Master's degree in Education.
A passion for regeneration, social impact, and progressive education.
Excellent project management skills.
Strong background in literacy instruction, with the ability to inspire a passion for reading, writing, and communication.
Experience in film-making, drama, or other creative disciplines is highly desirable.
Knowledge or work experience related to regeneration or entrepreneurship is highly desirable.
Native or near-native English proficiency with strong spoken and written communication skills.
A track record of working with culturally and linguistically diverse student populations.
Resilience, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset in a dynamic environment.
Demonstrated integration of innovative practices using a range of educational technologies.
