RECEPTIONIST AND COMMUNITY COORDINATOR

Role overview
This is a refreshingly diverse position that includes a variety of front-of-house activities, back-office tasks and project management opportunities. As a proactive and positive representation of our school, you will provide a friendly, welcoming and efficient service environment to our growing community and guests. You will be working closely with our passionate and dedicated educator team, assisting students and families with their needs, and helping the overall day-to-day operation of our organisation.
Areas where you can make a difference
Reception
- Build collaborative and empathetic connections with parents and communicate with them regularly through different channels, being their first point of contact within the school
- Observe and follow daily school attendance, being present at morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up of our students
- Arrange couriers and postal services and assist with general logistics of the school
- Report, organise and follow up on daily maintenance needs and the cleaning of the building
- Maintain the visitor management application
- Welcome guests and visitors
Organisation, community and project management
- Collaborate with educators and other staff members to organise both in-house and outdoor activities, events and excursions
- Create and organise the after-school activities and private class portfolio of the school.
- Organise open houses and community events
- Add value to a highly collaborative collegial team of dedicated educators and catalysts, and be a helpful source of local information to foreign families and educators with all sorts of enquiries
- Manage own projects, depending on skills and interest, e.g. raised-bed garden, photo shoots, yearbook
Administration
- Assist the international team with the procurement of learning resources and office supplies, having a strong focus on sustainability and ethical buying sources
- Support the student administration process
- Occasionally manage card payments
- Manage and register the devices across the school community
- Arrange pre-employment and annual Health & Safety training, 1st aid training
- Oversee daily H&S matters and keep in contact with the external H&S officer

To be successful, you would possess
- 2+ years of experience in event management, front-of-house positions in the hospitality industry, office management or school administration
- A Bachelor's degree in the areas of communications, economics, tourism, education or administration (international experience is preferred)
- Excellent English and Hungarian are essential
- An approachable, empathetic and discreet, 'people-person' character with very good organisation and time management skills
- A natural ability to establish strong, positive relationships with young people and their parents (experience with culturally diverse populations is preferred)
- A passion for our purpose and the social impact we aspire to create; alongside alignment with our school culture, including our passion for plant-based food
- A self-starter attitude, being highly resourceful, persistent, adaptable, innovative, creative and collaborative.
- Experience with sustainable or entrepreneurial causes is a major plus
