About REAL School
We are a British-accredited, growing international school for young people who will imagine and shape tomorrow - and today. Through project-based learning, our students discover the world and themselves, develop a sustainability mindset and the skills to make a difference, and learn to embrace change. Whilst we follow the National Curriculum for England for literacy, numeracy and science, our heart-focus is on nurturing both the entrepreneurial and thinking skills, and the wellbeing and personal qualities of our students through real-life experiences.
We are inspired by Green School Bali - where our founding team previously worked. We offer our community an entrepreneurial, respectful, collaborative, kind, authentic, high-standards environment where they can bring out the best in themselves.
Are you ready for an unparalleled adventure?
Tech & AI Internship at REAL School – Build the Future of Learning
Are you excited by the idea of building AI tools that change how people learn and work? Want to use your tech skills to make education smarter, fairer, and more human?
REAL School Budapest is looking for a sharp, curious Tech & AI Intern to help us transform how a school runs and how young people learn.
This is a paid internship for someone who wants to build, experiment, and make a real-world impact—ideal for junior full-stack developers, automation nerds, or AI enthusiasts ready to test themselves in a mission-driven environment.
What you’ll do
You’ll be our go-to builder for:
Creating AI-powered tools for learning design, planning, assessment, and personalised learning support
Building custom automations and integrations across our tech stack – admissions, CRM, LMS, Google Workspace, and internal workflows
Designing lightweight web apps and dashboards that improve the everyday experience of students, teachers, and staff
Prototyping with GPT-based tools to enhance teaching, learning, and school operations
You won’t be fixing bugs in some corporate system. You’ll be helping build a school of the future.
What you’ll learn
How progressive education works—from the inside
How to turn fuzzy ideas into real, useful tools
How AI is being applied (and misapplied) in schools—and how to do it right
How to work with a purpose-driven, creative, and sometimes chaotic team that’s trying to change the world
You’ll get mentorship, freedom to experiment, and lots of real-world feedback.
You might be a good fit if you…
Have experience with JavaScript, Python, or Google Apps Script (or similar)
Know your way around APIs and cloud-based tools
Are excited about AI tools (e.g. OpenAI, Gemini, Zapier)
Love figuring things out, building fast, and learning by doing
Want to use your skills for something meaningful
Bonus points if you’ve played with building GPTs or other AI prototypes.
